Zambezi National Park runs along the river just upstream of the falls, and is the closest proper game-viewing area to Victoria Falls town — home to elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and antelope species, with occasional lion sightings.
You can experience it three ways: a vehicle-based game drive (the most common option), a guided walking safari on foot with an armed ranger for a closer, quieter approach, or a horseback safari for novice or experienced riders, which lets you get near grazing animals that would otherwise move off from a vehicle or on foot.
Because it's so close to town, this is an easy half-day add-on rather than a full expedition — a good option if your itinerary doesn't include a longer stay at Hwange or Chobe.
