A half-day of grade 3–5 white water on the Zambezi, in the gorge directly below Victoria Falls.
The rafting run starts in the gorge just below the Falls, working through a stretch of named rapids — the river drops fast here, and the walls of the Batoka Gorge rise steeply on either side, so as much of the experience is the setting as the whitewater itself.
Rafting on the Zambezi is seasonal: water levels through the gorge change through the year, and some rapids are only runnable, or only safe, at certain times. We'll confirm current conditions and the exact put-in point before you book, since the operators adjust the route depending on river level.
No previous rafting experience is required — guides brief every group beforehand and run safety kayaks alongside the raft. It's physically demanding for a few hours, so a reasonable level of fitness helps, but this is a guided commercial trip, not an expedition.
Roughly half a day, including the safety briefing, the hike in/out of the gorge, and the paddle itself.
Moderate — you'll be paddling and may walk a steep gorge trail. Not recommended for guests with back or neck conditions.
Water levels vary through the year; we'll confirm which sections are running before your booking.
Swimwear, a change of clothes, and secure footwear for the gorge walk. Sun protection is essential.
