A guided walk along the Rainforest Trail on the Zimbabwe side — the classic way to see Victoria Falls up close, spray and all.
The Rainforest Trail runs along the Zimbabwe side of the falls, with a series of viewpoints looking directly across at the curtain of water. A guide walks you between them, explaining the history, geology and folklore of the site along the way — including its name in the local language, Mosi-oa-Tunya, the Smoke That Thunders.
Expect to get wet: spray from the falls drifts across parts of the trail, especially during the flood season from February to May. A raincoat is provided or recommended depending on the operator, and sturdy, closed footwear is worth having for the wetter sections.
